Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing is seeking an experienced and motivated Track Manager.
n

About the Role
n
Reporting to the General Manager the Racecourse Manager is responsible for ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the Bathurst Racecourse, training tracksand associated facilities.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the racecourse and training facilities.
n
Manage and maintain the racetrack, training tracks, and associated training facilities to ensure the highest standards for racing and trackwork
n
Lead and support a small team of ground staff.
n
Work closely with trainers and other industry stakeholders using the training centre.
n
Implement industry standards for the preparation of training and racing tracks and facilities.
n




Prepare an optimum racing surface for the attraction of the best possible class of horses to all race meetings.
n
Ensure that all associated plant and equipment are well maintained and in the best possible condition to achieve optimum performance.
n
Develop and manage an annual racecourse maintenance plan detailing programs for track watering, fertilizing, mowing and gardens.

About You
n
n
A thorough knowledge of race day & training track maintenance & preparation procedures.
n
Ability to implement effective work systems to agreed quality standards and within operational and budgetary controls.
n
Good understanding of the requirements and practical applications of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and codes
n
Ability to work independently and be self motivated
n
Ability to operate required machinery including turf maintenance equipment
n
Experience in developing and implementing track maintenance programs
n
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people
n
