The Opportunity

I'm working with an established head contractor delivering a $26m+ multi-storey hotel development in the Hunter Valley.
n
With structural works progressing, they are looking for an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join the site team from late September / early October.
n
This is a hands-on Leading Hand position working closely with an experienced Structures Foreman and Site Manager. You'll still have the nail bag on while helping coordinate trades, labour and structural works across a rapid-moving site.
n
The project consists of a multi-level hotel with suspended post-tensioned slabs, multiple deck construction and a rooftop pool/spa, with several work fronts operating concurrently.

The Role
n

Hands-on Leading Hand Carpenter position
n
Assist with delivery of the structural package
n
Multi-deck construction and suspended slab works
n
Post-tensioned concrete structure
n
Coordinate trades and labour on the ground
n
Assist with sequencing and day-to-day site planning
n
Maintain quality and safety standards
n
Work closely with the Structures Foreman and Site Manager
n
Help keep multiple work fronts moving to programme
n

About You
n
This role needs someone who has already worked on multi-deck construction and understands the pace and sequencing involved. Someone coming purely from low-rise or residential carpentry will struggle with the complexity of the structure.

You will ideally have:
n
n
Carpentry trade background
n
Previous Leading Hand experience
n
Multi-deck construction experience – essential
n
Suspended / post-tensioned slab experience
n
Commercial or multi-storey construction background
n
Comfortable being hands-on while coordinating others
n
Strong understanding of structural sequencing
n
Forklift / Manitou ticket highly regarded
n
White Card
n
First Aid advantageous
n
n
You'll be joining a good, experienced project team with a Site Manager, Structures Foreman and Fitout Foreman already in place.
n
The initial project runs for approximately 17+ months, with additional works planned alongside the main development.
