Medical Secretary /PA to Specialist Surgeon

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Secretary/PA – ideally with a background in specialist surgical settings - to join our administrative team supporting the practice Director and newly established Head and Neck Surgeon.

Hours: Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
n
Location: Onsite role in Richmond + 1 x Mount Waverley consulting per fortnight. (Parking/travel arrangements are available)
n
You'll be joining a busy specialist practice which supports 9 Surgeons. Your role will be to provide proactive, dedicated support to 2 of our surgeons. Their practices are growing and so we're keen to have a team member who is excited about the opportunity to be involved in the development of both their practices as well as driving innovation with emerging technologies. This is a challenging role supporting a practice Director and newly established Head and Neck Surgeon which requires experience, high organisational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

n
Extensive diary management and patient bookings
n
Providing qualified and sensitive service to a wide variety of patient groups
n
Managing patient queries and running consulting sessions
n
Coordinating all theatre bookings and liaising with hospitals and anaesthetists, as well as surgical billing and debt recovery as required
n
Preparing and processing medical documentation (referrals, reports, correspondence, consent forms, High Cost Drug forms, liaison with the Cochlear team as required)
n
Diligent and enthusiastic approach to work with high attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking ability
n
Ability to work collaboratively within a broader team
n
Proven experience as a specialist Medical Secretary/PA
n
Calendar organisation and strategy skills are paramount!
n
Energetic and friendly disposition
n
Reliable and punctual work commitment
n
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with patients, medical professionals, peers and stakeholders
n
Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, with demonstration of problem solving and initiative where appropriate
n
Exercise diplomacy, discretion, integrity and sensitivity to the needs of our patient groups
n
An interest in emerging technologies, while not essential will be favourably viewed
n
