About the role
n
The Operations Manager role is essential to Assembly Now's ongoing success. You will lead and support the daily activities of the warehouse team and the on-road
transport/installation
crews within the state. This position involves people leadership, planning, commercial tracking, sales support, customer and equipment management, safety and compliance across a comprehensive logistics operation specialising in high-end furniture delivery and assembly.

Key responsibilities

Lead, support, and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team and on-road
transport/installation
crews within the state
n
Provide clear direction, task allocation, and performance expectations to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality service delivery
n
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members to build capability and consistency
n
Manage rostering, attendance, and workforce planning to ensure adequate coverage for daily operations and project requirements
n
Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety briefings, and team check-ins to maintain strong communication and alignment
n
Plan and optimise daily delivery, installation, and project routes to maximise efficiency, minimise travel time,



and meet client deadlines with the state-based Operations Coordinator
n
Monitor vehicle utilisation, job allocation, and driver performance to ensure commercially sound operations
n
Track job profitability, fuel usage, labour hours, and other cost drivers to support commercial decision-making
n
Act as a key point of contact for state-based clients, providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience
n
Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and readiness of all warehouse equipment, vehicles, tools, and installation gear
n

About you
n
n
3+ years experience in Warehouse, Logistics or Project Management
n
Demonstrates strong leadership capability, creating clarity, motivation, and accountability across both warehouse and field-based teams
n
Applies structured operational thinking to plan, sequence, and coordinate daily workflows in a way that optimises efficiency and service delivery
n
Shows commercial acumen by understanding cost drivers, resource utilisation, and the financial impact of operational decisions
n
Builds and maintains positive client relationships through clear communication, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset
n
Responds to operational challenges with sound judgment, resilience, and the ability to make timely, well-reasoned decisions
n
Competence in business computing applications
n
Access to a motor vehicle for use during work hours
n
A current National Police Certificate will be required prior to the commencement of employment
n
Forklift licence preferred but not essential
