Mobile Installer / Glazier - Marine Industry (Training Provided)
On the road most days: Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and interstate. Based out of Coomera.
Full time, Monday to Friday. Start and finish times move with the job, and some are early.
A different boat, a different postcode, most weeks of the year.
We fit windows, doors and glazing to boats. Superyachts, commercial vessels, government fleets, workboats and private cruisers. One week you are on a 40 metre motor yacht at Coomera. The next you are on a tug in Brisbane. The next you are on a ferry in Sydney.
It is precision work, done on board someone's vessel, to a finish that gets looked at from 30cm away. The people who do well here are quick with their hands, fussy about a finish, and happy that no two weeks look the same.
You do not need to have done any of it before. You get paid to learn it, on boats most people only ever see from the dock.
What the job actually looks like
You are in the car or on a plane most days. Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast are the regular runs and you are home that night. Beyond that it might be drive to the Sunshine Coast, a week in Sydney, a flight to Airlie Beach, occasionally overseas. Accommodation is covered when you are away and your meals are paid for every day you work.
For the right person this is the best part of the job. A different stretch of coast every few weeks, boats you would never otherwise get near, and no shed to stand in. It is also the part people underestimate, so picture your actual week before you apply.
You are on the tools, all day. Measuring, cutting, dry-fitting, sealing and finishing. Hand tools and power tools used carefully, on boats where there is no second chance at the cut and no hiding a bad line. If you are quick with your hands and fussy about a finish,



you will pick this up fast.
Every boat is different. Sixty metre yachts, government patrol boats, ferries, tugs, thirty foot sports cruisers. Recent builds and thirty year old hulls where nothing is square. Very little repeats, and the problem in front of you is rarely the one you solved last week.
You work in a small team. Usually three of you on a job, working alongside each other all day. It is close-quarters work, so being easy to get along with counts.
We will teach you the glazing
You do not need marine or glazing experience. We train that from scratch, on the job, alongside people who have been doing it for years.
What you bring is the hands and the attitude. We are after people who pick things up quickly and take care with a finish. If you want to end up running your own team, the path is there and we would rather fill it from inside. If you would rather stay on the tools for the long haul, that suits us just as well.
This suits you if you are:
A mobile auto glazier, or anyone already working out of a van at a different address every day
A painter, detailer, marine trimmer, shopfitter or signwriter
Just out of your apprenticeship and after more variety than a yard or a factory will give you
Someone who leaves a job site tidier than they found it, and who is easy to spend a week away with
Straight up about what this job is not
It is not a factory job and it is not a yard job.



You are not walking into the same shed, to the same spot, at the same time every morning. Start times move with the job and the tide. Some days finish early, some days you stay until the boat is watertight.
Plenty of good tradespeople want a set start, a set finish and the same place every day, and that is a completely fair thing to want. It is just not what this job is. Better you know that now than in week three.
Requirements
Driver's licence
Genuinely happy to travel. Daily around South East Queensland, plus regular overnight and interstate trips.
Comfortable working at heights and on the water
Elevating Work Platform (EWP) ticket, or willing to get one. We cover the cost.
Trade or hands-on installation background. Marine or glazing experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
