Our client is a well-established importer and distributor supplying Australia's food manufacturing sector. They are seeking an experienced Country Operations Manager to lead their Australian operation, overseeing a small, high-performing team across customer service, logistics, inventory, quality and administration.

This is a broad leadership position offering plenty of autonomy, where you'll have the chance to make a genuine impact while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day operation.

About your new role:
n
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance of the Australian operation, ensuring the business delivers exceptional service, maintains operational excellence and continues to grow.
n
This is a broad, hands-on leadership role where you'll lead a small, high-performing team while overseeing logistics, inventory, quality, customer service, administration and 3PL warehouse performance.
n
Based in Mascot, you'll travel to the Sydney 3PL warehouse every couple of weeks, with occasional interstate travel to other 3PL locations as required.
n

Lead and develop a small operations team across customer service, logistics and administration.
n
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Australian business.
n
Manage inbound and outbound logistics, inventory control and 3PL warehouse performance.
n
Drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
Ensure outstanding customer service and manage escalated customer enquiries.
n
Oversee local finance administration, including coordination of AP, AR, reconciliations and payroll activities.
n
Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies and regulatory requirements.
n
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, warehouse partners and customers.

Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency and profitability.

About you:
n
We're looking for an experienced operational leader who can lead from the front and enjoys working in a fast-paced distribution setting.
n
You'll bring well-rounded operations experience across multiple functions and understand how areas such as logistics, warehousing, inventory, customer service and administration work together to drive overall business performance.
n
n
Proven leadership experience within a distribution, wholesale or supply chain environment.
n
Well-rounded experience across multiple operational functions, not just one specialist area.
n
Strong knowledge of logistics, warehousing, inventory management and customer service.
n
Experience managing teams and building strong relationships with 3PL providers and external partners.
n
Experience within the food, FMCG or food ingredient industry will be highly regarded.
n
Strong commercial acumen with a proactive, hands-on leadership style.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
n
Willingness to travel to the Sydney 3PL warehouse regularly, with occasional interstate travel as required.
n
