DIESEL + TRUCK MECHANIC – SMITH SERVICES – IMMEDIATE START

Smith Services is growing - and we’re looking for a Diesel + Truck Mechanic to join the team!

Due to continued growth in our current workload and fleet size, we are looking for a full-time Diesel Mechanic to take care of our fleet of earthmoving machinery, trucks and vehicles.

This is a outstanding opportunity for a hands‑on mechanic who enjoys variety, working on quality equipment and being part of a solid local team.

THE ROLE

You’ll be responsible for keeping our fleet maintained, serviced and ready to work, including:
Earthmoving machinery
Trucks & trailers
Light vehicles
Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues
Breakdown and general mechanical repairs
Keeping maintenance records up to date

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic




Experience working on earthmoving equipment, trucks or heavy machinery
Solid diagnostic and mechanical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, practical and safety-focused attitude
HR licence and/or experience with heavy machinery is an advantage
