Role Overview
n
The Commercial & Trading Analyst supports the Purchasing, Customer Care, Accounts & Marketing teams in driving sales growth, margin improvement, and commercial performance across Vet Directs e-commerce portfolio of veterinary equipment, consumables, instruments & clothing. This is an integral role that analyses sales, margin and profitability trends to identify opportunities for growth and cost improvement with a view to giving Vet Direct a competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting Direction
n

Analyse sales, margin, profitability, and revenue performance to provide commercial insights.
n
Produce regular reports and conduct pricing, competitor, and supplier performance analysis.
n
Support product launches, category reviews, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
n
Build robust relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and colleagues.
n
Champion CVS values, maintain a customer-focused approach, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
n

Share knowledge and best practice with colleagues and the wider business.

Produce accurate and timely reporting, dashboards, and KPI scorecards.

Monitor category and supplier performance, providing actionable recommendations and insights.

Ensure reporting accuracy, data integrity, and effective stakeholder communication.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support business performance through data-driven decision-making.
n
Consistently meet and exceed objectives and KPIs through proactive performance management.
n

Key Skills Required:
n
n
Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills with ability to organise and use Microsoft Office tools.
n
Advanced excel skills
n
Effective negotiation skills with a willingness to drive down costs and improve efficiencies
n
Strong commercial acumen
n
Experience in commercial and category analysis
n
Sound business knowledge
n
Accuracy and an eye for detail
n
Good organisation and time management skills.
n
A team player with a high level of dedication to fulfil obligations.
