Job Description
Superior Diesel Maintenance Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Mining Equipment Technician to join our team in Muswellbrook, NSW. This is a full-time position based on-site with a full time work vehicle provided, where you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing heavy mining equipment to ensure optimal operational performance and safety standards. Your expertise will be essential in supporting our clients' mining operations and contributing to the reliability and efficiency of their fleet.

What you'll be doing
n
Performing routine maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy mining equipment including excavators, haul trucks, dozers, and drilling equipment
n
Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools and equipment
n
Conducting repairs to engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
n
Inspecting equipment for wear, damage and safety compliance
n
Maintaining detailed maintenance records and service logs
n
Liaising with mining site supervisors and operators to understand equipment performance issues
n
Performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan
n
Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
n
Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior technicians where applicable
n
What we're looking for
n
Trade qualifications as a Heavy Diesel Technician
n
Minimum 3-5 years' experience working on heavy mining equipment in an operational mining environment
n
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmission systems and electrical components
n
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools
n




Sound understanding of health and safety principles and mining industry regulations
n
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
n
Robust communication skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
n
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in varying weather conditions
n
Demonstrated reliability and commitment to completing work to high standards
n
Well presented and tidy appearance
