Firbank Grammar School is seeking a proficient and approachable Instrumental Music Tutor (Flute) to support and inspire the development of flute students across our three School Campuses. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a positive learning environment. Hours of work:
n
This is a casual position currently managed across two days.
n
As the work includes our Junior Instrumental Program. Candidates must be available on Tuesday.
n
Other duties include working with the flute ensemble and the delivery of individual lessons. There is some flexibility around scheduling.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Communication: Foster positive relationships with staff, students, and the school community. Handle all correspondence professionally and confidentially, direct enquiries appropriately, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.
n
Work within a dynamic Music Department with an acknowledged reputation for instilling the skills and abilities to play confidently at all skill levels.
n
Develop the inclusion of the flute in all aspects of our music programs through teaching excellence.
n

Skills and Attributes:
n
n
Experience teaching flute to students across primary and secondary year levels.
n
n
Strong organisational, time management and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
n




Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
n
Extremely high standard of personal ethics and valuable character.
n
Ability to work independently, as well as working collaboratively in a team.
n
High standard of personal presentation.
n
Ability to develop, build and nurture relationships.
n
Friendly and approachable demeanor, with a commitment to providing excellent support to students and families. Be accessible and approachable for both staff and students.
n
Qualifications:
n
n
Appropriate tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in teaching the flute.
n
Current WWCC (employee).
n
First Aid and CPR Certificates.
n
n
