An established boutique accounting and advisory firm based in Sydney CBD is looking to add a Senior Business Services & Tax Accountant to their growing team. The firm works with High Net Worth Individuals, family groups and their associated businesses, providing a combination of Business Services, Tax, Virtual CFO and Estate Planning services. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Business Services & Tax Accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and wants exposure to more than just compliance.

The Role

Working across a portfolio of private clients and their businesses, you will be responsible for:
Preparing and reviewing financial accounts and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and other structures
Managing Business Services and tax compliance across a diverse client portfolio
Preparing BAS, IAS and other statutory requirements
Providing tax planning and general tax advice
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
Working with clients and their advisers to understand their broader financial and business needs
Assisting with Virtual CFO services and business advisory projects
Liaising with clients, auditors, financial advisers, lawyers and other professional advisers
Supporting more complex client matters and ad hoc advisory work as required

About You

You will ideally have:
CA/CPA qualification or be working towards completion
3+ years' experience in Business Services and Tax within an Australian accounting firm
Solid experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across a range of entity types
Good knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements
Experience working directly with clients and managing your own portfolio
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A commercial mindset and an interest in understanding the broader needs of clients
Experience with Xero and/orsimilar accounting software
