Townsville University Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Emergency Department team on a short-term contract basis.
This is a two-week placement running from 14 to 27 September ****, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic acute care environment where you'll manage triage, provide emergency nursing care, and support patients across the ED and aged care settings.
The role also includes potential first responder duties with the hospital-based ambulance service, working alongside a dedicated driver.
Triage and emergency nursing care in a busy, high-acuity department

Prospect to work as a first responder with the hospital-based ambulance service
Preferred Requirements




Current and demonstrated experience in emergency department nursing and triage
Proficiency with iEMR systems and electronic clinical documentation
Comfortable providing personal care assistance, including showering and activities of daily living support
Willingness and ability to work as a first responder with the hospital-based ambulance service
Current Yellow Card (NDIS) clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated competence in emergency nursing
Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or equivalent emergency response certification
