BQ's travel is currently managed reactively through an external agency.
This is a hands-on, fixed-term project role for an experienced travel specialist to establish direct airline and accommodation relationships, build BQ's Corporate Travel Policy and booking framework, and confirm and book **** travel across all departments (athletes, coaches, officials, staff, board and Affiliate delegates). This is a genuine chance to shape how a growing state sporting organisation manages travel, with the autonomy to negotiate directly with suppliers and design processes from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
Establish direct corporate accounts and negotiated agreements with major airlines
Build a tiered preferred accommodation portfolio with direct rates and attrition terms
Design department-specific travel workflows, approval chains and duty-of-care processes
Draft a BQ Corporate Travel Policy and booking/approval framework, including a technology recommendation
Confirm and book all **** travel and deliver a budget comparative model to Finance




Manage the transition from BQ's current agency and document a full handover for BQ staff
About you
Substantial experience in the corporate travel industry (travel management company, airline or in-house corporate travel background)
A proven track record negotiating direct supplier agreements with airlines and accommodation providers
Experience developing travel policies, booking workflows and approval processes
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to build budget and cost comparison models
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to engage at Executive level
A delivery mindset; comfortable working to a defined scope and timeframe
