Fix Auto Rockhampton is a premier, family-owned collision repair specialist based in Rockhampton. Due to sustained growth and high demand from our loyal customer base and leading insurance partners, we are seeking an experienced Strip & Fit Technician to join our professional workshop team.

You will play a critical role in our repair pipeline—ensuring precise vehicle teardowns for repair planning, meticulous parts organization, and flawless final reassembly to manufacturer standards.

The Role

This position is dedicated strictly to vehicle assembly, disassembly, and quality outcomes — no panel beating or major structural repair experience required.

Key Responsibilities
n
Teardown & Planning:



Perform accurate disassembly to assist estimators with repair assessments and identify any hidden damage early.
n
Precision Reassembly: Refit vehicle panels, trims, glass,
mechanical/electrical
components, and interiors strictly to OEM standards.
n
Quality & Cycle Times: Conduct quality checks during reassembly, maintain shop efficiency standards, and assist with pre-delivery inspections.
n
Safety & Collaboration: Maintain a clean bay, follow WHS protocols, and work collaboratively with panel beaters, painters, and management to hit workflow deadlines.

Candidate Requirements
n
Experience: Demonstrated background as a Strip & Fit Technician, Assembler, or Trade Assistant with experience in a busy body shop environment (Experience in automotive body repair or I-CAR certifications is highly regarded).
n
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of vehicle construction,
mechanical/electrical
components, and modern repair procedures.
n
Physical Capability: Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
n
Licensing & Work Ethic: Valid driver's license, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently.
