Our client is a well-established medical practice group seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Finance Officer to join their team and take responsibility for a broad range of financial management, reporting, payroll and business support functions.

The Opportunity
n
Reporting across two practices,
you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations while providing meaningful reporting and analysis to support business decisions.
n
Accounts & Payroll
n
n
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, reconciliations and debt follow-up.
n
Process and manage payroll for administration and nursing staff.
n
Ensure payroll compliance with awards, employment contracts, taxation, superannuation and STP requirements.
n
n
Financial Management & Reporting
n
n
Manage day-to-day financial operations, reconciliations and month-end processes.
n
Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts and monthly financial reports.
n
Monitor income and expenditure, investigate variances and maintain accurate financial records.
n
Prepare P&L;, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
n
Provide financial information and insights to support business operations.
n
n
Doctor Activity & Practice Reporting
n
n
Prepare and validate doctor activity and billing reports.
n
Analyse performance against service agreements and session commitments.
n
Provide confidential reporting to support workforce, capacity and fee calculations.
n
n
Team & HR Support
n
n
Supervise, coach and support the Practice Accounts & Payroll Administrator.
n
Allocate workloads, review work and ensure key payroll,
accounts and reporting deadlines are met.
n
Support staff development, recruitment and HR initiatives.
n
Drive process improvements across finance and administration.
n
n
Systems, Compliance & Continuity
n
n
Ensure compliance with taxation, superannuation, employment and privacy requirements.
n
Maintain finance procedures and protect confidential financial, payroll and patient information.
n
Provide finance and payroll support across both practices during staff absences.
n
n
About You
n
We are looking for an experienced finance qualified who can confidently manage both the day-to-day finance function and financial reporting.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
Proven experience in senior bookkeeping, finance or accounting.
n
Strong experience in month-end, reconciliations, payroll and financial reporting.
n
Sound knowledge of STP, superannuation, leave and award requirements.
n
Strong working knowledge of Xero and Excel, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
n
Excellent organisation and ability to manage competing deadlines.
n
Ability to work autonomously and provide practical financial insights to management.
n
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
n
High level of discretion when handling confidential financial, remuneration, employee and patient information.
n
n
Previous medical practice or healthcare experience will be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right candidate.
n
