Penrith Performing & Visual Arts (PP&VA;) is seeking an experiencedChief Financial Officer (CFO)to provide strategic financial leadership across one of Western Sydney's leading arts and cultural organisations.
PP&VA; operates a diverse portfolio includingThe Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Lewers: Penrith Regional Gallery, Q Theatre and Penrith Conservatorium of Music, delivering live performance, visual arts, music education and community programs.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer & Artistic Director, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the organisation's financial management and provide high-level financial advice to the Executive Team and Board.
The role will be responsible for ensuring strong financial governance, effective planning and reporting, and the long-term financial sustainability of PP&VA.;
Key responsibilities include:
Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO, Executive Team and Board
Lead the organisation's financial strategy, planning and reporting
Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting and financial management
Monitor organisational performance against budgets and financial targets
Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, financial reports and Board reporting
Oversee cash flow, financial controls, reconciliations and statutory reporting
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, legislation and regulatory requirements
Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate the external audit process
Provide financial analysis and advice to support business and operational decisions
Identify financial risks, opportunities and strategies to support organisational sustainability
Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other core finance functions




Manage and develop the finance team
Work collaboratively with senior leaders across PP&VA;'s venues and business areas
Support commercial, capital and strategic projects with financial analysis and advice
Contribute to organisational planning and continuous improvement
About you
We are looking for a commercially minded and collaborative finance leader who can combine strong technical accounting expertise with strategic thinking.
You will have:
Significant experience in a senior finance leadership or CFO role
Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline
CPA or CA qualification
Robust experience in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
Demonstrated experience providing financial advice at executive and Board level
Strong understanding of financial governance, risk management and compliance
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience leading and developing a finance team
The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical advice for non-financial stakeholders
Solid attention to detail, integrity and sound professional judgement
Experience within thearts, cultural, entertainment, government or not-for-profit sectorswill be highly regarded.
