About the role
We are seeking a Café Kitchen Hand & All-Rounder to join the team at Bowan Island Cafe Zetland on a part-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic hospitality environment where you'll contribute to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Based in Zetland NSW ****, you'll work in a fast-paced kitchen setting, supporting the preparation of fresh food and beverages whilst maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills in a welcoming café environment.
Key responsibilities
Preparing and assembling sandwiches, salads, and other café menu items according to established recipes and standards
Assisting with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and portioning ingredients
Maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including regular cleaning and sanitising of workstations, equipment and utensils
Supporting the broader café operations, including taking orders, serving customers and operating the till when required
Managing food storage and stock rotation to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety standards
Assisting with beverage preparation, including coffee, tea and other hot and cold drinks
Following all food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain the health and wellbeing of customers
Working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during peak periods
What we're looking for
Previous experience working in a kitchen or café environment,



or a genuine willingness to learn
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and collaborative attitude
Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work part-time hours including potential weekend shifts
A genuine passion for hospitality and customer service
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willingness to obtain one would be advantageous
