Medical Receptionist - Casual to commence | Potential for permanent part-time/full time

Elder St Practice is a well-established, community-focused general practice in Lambton, caring for generations of local families.
We are looking for a Medical Receptionist / Medical Administrator to join our experienced, friendly and supportive team.
The position will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the potential to move into an ongoing permanent part-time or full-time position for the right person.

We are looking for a Medical Receptionist / Medical Administrator to join our experienced, friendly and supportive team.
The position will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the potential to move into an ongoing permanent part-time or full-time position for the right person.
About the role
This is a varied medical administration role within a busy GP practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and providing friendly, professional front-desk service
Answering phones and managing patient enquiries
Booking and managing appointments
Processing Medicare claims, payments and other billing
Scanning and processing correspondence, reports and results
Maintaining accurate patient records
Providing administrative support to GPs,



nurses and the Practice Manager
Liaising with patients, doctors, nurses and other health professionals
Assisting with recalls, referrals and general practice workflows
General reception and administrative duties as required
Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy
About you
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience in general practice or any other medical/healthcare setting
Has experience with Best Practice or similar software, which is highly regarded
Has excellent communication and customer service skills
Is friendly, approachable and professional with patients
Has strong attention to detail
Can multitask and prioritise in a busy environment
Is reliable, organised and takes initiative
Works well as part of a team but is also comfortable working independently
Understands the importance of confidentiality and patient privacy
