Qualified Motor Mechanic (Min. 5 Year Experience) – North Geelong – $35–$45/hr

Malik Automotive is looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years' automotive workshop experience to join our team in North Geelong.
n
We are looking for an experienced mechanic who can work confidently and independently, diagnose faults accurately and take pride in completing quality repairs.
n
You will work on a variety of Japanese, European and Australian vehicles, with a mix of servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, fault finding and roadworthy-related work.
n
If you enjoy diagnosing problems properly rather than simply replacing parts, this role will suit you.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Carry out scheduled servicing and routine maintenance
n
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and scan tools
n
Perform mechanical repairs and component replacement
n
Carry out brake, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs
n
Perform engine and transmission repairs and replacements
n
Carry out electrical fault finding and basic electrical repairs
n
Inspect vehicles and identify required repairs
n
Carry out pre‐RWC inspections and repairs where required
n
Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
n
Follow manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures
n
Maintain accurate job cards and service records
n
Communicate professionally with team members and customers when required
n
Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
n

Skills & Experience
n
Essential:
n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Motor Mechanic in an automotive workshop
n




Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
n
Robust mechanical knowledge and diagnostic ability
n
Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles independently
n
Experience using automotive diagnostic scan tools
n
Ability to diagnose faults rather than relying on parts replacement
n
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
n
Reliable, punctual and professional
n
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
n
Current Australian driver's licence
n
n
Experience with Japanese, European and Australian vehicles is highly regarded.
n
