Peckys Disability Services (Peckys) has been operating in the local Blacktown area since ****, providing quality support and services including day programs, accommodation support and weekend recreation services for more than 200 participants.
n
We currently have an exciting prospect for a dedicated and caring Disability Support Worker to join our day program on a fixed term contract for 6 months, working 50 hours per fortnight.
n
The successful applicant will join a specialised supportive team providing active care to participants, focusing on a mixture of personal care, in-house activities and community access.
n
Responsibilities and Requirements
n
n
Providing direct support to people with a disability including personal care and medication management;
n
Application of Participant plans ie; behaviour support, epilepsy management, etc.;
n
Accurate data collection in all areas of community participation;
n




Maintaining and monitoring a participant's person-centered support plan.
n
Minimum 2 years' experience working in a busy day program environment is essential
n
Demonstrated experience working with peoplewith challenging behaviours
n
Ability to support participants in community engagement and skill development.
n
Ability to work within a teamenvironment as well as ability to work independently with a participant one to one.
n
Current NSW Driver's License.
n
Confidence in driving a Hi-Ace van
n
1st Aid certificate or willingness to obtain within 1month of start date
n
NDIS Screening check, or a willingness to obtain prior to work commencement
n
Relevant industry and/or tertiary qualification e.g. Certificate 3 or 4 in Disabilities
n
