Medical Receptionist – 12-Month Parental Leave Cover
OceansPlus Medical Centre is seeking a qualified and approachable Medical Receptionist to join our team for approximately 12 months while a team member is on parental leave.
This is a casual parental leave replacement position commencing in October ****, offering up to 20 hours per week across rostered weekday shifts between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
From time to time, additional shifts may be offered to assist with staff absences or operational needs.
You will work as part of our reception team, providing day-to-day administrative support and helping patients with their enquiries and appointments.
Key responsibilities
Welcome patients and manage front reception
Answer telephone enquiries and manage patient appointments
Process Medicare and private billing
Maintain accurate and confidential patient information
Respond to patient enquiries professionally and respectfully
Provide general administrative support to doctors, nurses and the practice team




About you
Has strong customer service and communication skills
Is organised, reliable and able to work effectively in a busy environment
Has good attention to detail and administrative skills
Understands the importance of patient privacy and confidentiality
Works well independently and as part of a team
Is comfortable working with patients from diverse cultural and community backgrounds
Is available to work rostered weekday shifts between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm
Previous medical reception or general practice experience is preferred
Experience using Best Practice software will be highly regarded
