An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join the management team of a vibrant and well-established shopping centre near Ryde.
n Working closely with the Operations Manager and Centre Manager, you will help drive the day-to-day operational performance of the asset, ensuring it remains safe, compliant and exceptionally presented for tenants, customers and visitors.
n The Role Your key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Supporting the daily operations of the centre, including maintenance, cleaning, security, waste management and essential building services
n
Conducting regular inspections to maintain high presentation, safety and operational standards
n
Coordinating contractors and suppliers while monitoring KPIs, service levels and compliance
n
Assisting with tenders, contract renewals and contractor performance reviews
n
Ensuring compliance with WHS, fire safety, environmental and statutory requirements
n
Supporting incident response, risk assessments and emergency management procedures
n
Assisting with sustainability initiatives and monitoring energy, water and waste performance
n
Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
n
Responding promptly to maintenance requests and operational concerns
n
Maintaining accurate compliance documentation, records and operational logs
n
Assisting with operational reports, budgets and management updates
n
Building strong relationships with tenants, contractors and key stakeholders
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
n
n
Three to five years of experience in facilities or operations management
n
Previous experience within a retail or shopping centre environment
n
Sound knowledge of HVAC, fire, electrical, plumbing and other building systems
n
A strong understanding of WHS and statutory compliance requirements
n
Experience managing contractors, suppliers and multiple stakeholders
n
Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
n
The ability to confidently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting
n
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
n
Experience using CMMS or property management systems
n
Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Building Services or a related discipline will be highly regarded
n
