Senior Environmental Specialist - Contaminated Sites & Remediation

Join a team driving the protected and sustainable rehabilitation of major energy infrastructure assets on a 5 month assignment.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to support contaminated sites management, remediation programs, and waste management initiatives. This role will provide technical expertise across 3 sites to ensure environmental compliance, support site rehabilitation projects, and contribute to long-term sustainability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Support the delivery of contaminated sites assessment and remediation programs.
n
Ensure compliance with the Contaminated Sites Act **** and relevant environmental legislation.
n
Provide specialist advice on contaminated land, waste management, environmental risks, and remediation strategies.
n
Contribute to the implementation of a 5-year contaminated sites management plan and long-term waste management strategy.
n
Develop and review environmental management plans, risk assessments, tenders, and contractor documentation.
n
Monitor environmental performance through audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
n
Engage with regulators, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to achieve project and environmental objectives.
n




Support incident reporting, environmental investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
n
5+ years' experience in contaminated sites investigations, remediation, or environmental management.
n
Strong knowledge of WA environmental legislation, contaminated sites requirements, and waste management practices.
n
Experience in environmental risk assessment, contractor management, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
n
Excellent communication, technical report writing, and problem-solving skills.
n
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
n

Experience within energy, industrial, infrastructure, mining, or major project environments.
