About us
MPE Custom Switchboards is a specialist switchboard manufacturer based in Smithfield.
We build quality electrical switchboards and take pride in growing our own tradespeople — properly, not just throwing you in the deep end.
Work in our workshop, not alone on a job site, with experienced electricians backing you every step.
The opportunity
We're growing, and we want 1st and 2nd year apprentices who want to learn a genuinely specialised trade.
You'll work alongside experienced electricians and pick up skills most apprentices don't get exposed to until much later — or ever.
What you'll learn
Assembling switchboards and control panels
Installing and maintaining electrical equipment
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings




Electrical testing and safety checks
Setting out panels and control wiring
What we offer
Paid TAFE day — 1 day a week
Overtime and Saturday work available at penalty rates when it's on

About you
Currently in (or about to start) 1st or 2nd year of your electrical apprenticeship
Solid with maths and English
A team player who's keen to learn and shows up ready to work
Safety-conscious with good communication skills
