Data Analyst - Power BI, Fabric & Databricks
MuraConnect is partnering with a leading Government organisation to identify an experienced Data Analyst to support a major ICT transformation program. This is a contract opportunity to February ****, with the broader program extending into ****.
You'll work across complex datasets to develop reporting, dashboards and analytical solutions that support evidence-based decision-making. Working alongside Business Analysts, Data Architects and Engineers, you'll turn business needs into practical data solutions and meaningful insights.
The Role
As the Data Analyst, you will be responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights and high-quality reporting solutions, including:
Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations
Analysing complex datasets to identify trends, risks and actionable insights
Translating business requirements into clear data and reporting specifications
Building and maintaining data models using DAX, Power Query and SQL
Working with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Dataflows and Lakehouse concepts
Validating and improving data quality, consistency and governance
Implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) within Power BI
Presenting analytical findings to business and technical stakeholders
Supporting UAT, report validation and implementation activities
About You
To be successful,



you will be a technically strong Data Analyst with a passion for turning complex information into clear, valuable insights and the ability to confidently engage with both business and technical stakeholders.
You will bring:
Strong experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting or analytics
Moderate to advanced Power BI capability
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong proficiency across DAX, Power Query and SQL
Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Databricks
Understanding of semantic models, Dataflows and Lakehouse concepts
Strong data visualisation and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data or Fabric certifications are highly regarded, but not essential
