Credwell is seeking an experienced Principal ESD Consultant to lead complex sustainability projects, drive the growth of our Energy & Sustainability practice, and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the service line

The Role
n
You will:

Contribute to the development and implement the strategic growth plan for Credwell's Energy & Sustainability practice.
n
Identify emerging market opportunities, service offerings, and industry trends to drive sustainable business growth.
n
Work closely with the Leadership Team to establish annual business objectives, revenue targets, and resource planning.
n
Build Credwell's profile within the industry through thought leadership, industry engagement, conferences, and professional networks.
n
Champion innovation and continuous improvement across ESD services and technical delivery.
n

Business Development & Client Leadership
n
n
Take ownership of key client relationships and strategic accounts.
n
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
n
Lead major proposals, bids, and fee submissions.
n
Develop strong relationships with developers, architects, contractors, government agencies, certifiers, and industry stakeholders.
n
Collaborate across Credwell's service lines to identify and drive multidisciplinary project opportunities.
n
Actively contribute to revenue growth and expansion of the sustainability practice nationally.

Project Delivery & Technical Leadership
n
n
Lead the delivery of complex ESD consulting projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial, government, and mixed-use developments.
n
Provide expert advice relating to BASIX, Section J DTS, J1V3 Performance Solutions, NatHERS, Green Star, NABERS, embodied carbon, building performance, and sustainability strategies.
n
Review and oversee technical deliverables, ensuring a consistently high standard of quality and client outcomes.
n
Provide strategic sustainability advice throughout project planning, design, construction, and operational phases.
n
Manage project risks, budgets, resources, and client expectations.
n
Mentor, coach, and develop ESD consultants and emerging technical leaders.
n
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on technical excellence and client service.
n
Support recruitment, capability development, and succession planning within the team.
n
Encourage knowledge sharing, innovation, and professional development across the business.
n
n
About You
n
n
Degree qualified in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or a related discipline.
n
10+ years' experience in sustainability and ESD consulting.
n
NatHERS Accredited Assessor and NABERS Accredited Professional
n
Strong track record delivering complex ESD and building performance projects.
n
Demonstrated experience growing client relationships and winning new business.
n
Proven ability to develop and execute business growth strategies.
n
Experience leading teams and mentoring technical professionals.
n
Strong understanding of the NCC,



BASIX, Section J, NABERS, Green Star, NatHERS, embodied carbon, and broader sustainability frameworks.
n
Commercially minded with strong business development and client management skills.
n
Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
n
Other Industry accreditations such as Green Star Accredited Professional, WELL AP, or equivalent highly regarded.
