An established business operating across the residential construction and renewable energy sector is seeking a Solar Layout Drafter / Estimating Support professional to join its team on an immediate temporary basis.
n
This is a high-volume, process-driven role supporting residential new-build projects. You'll review building plans, prepare straightforward solar panel layouts and assist with estimating, quotations and material requirements.
n
You do not need to be a solar engineer or highly technical system designer. Training will be provided on the company's internal automated design system and solar-specific processes.

The Role
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Reviewing residential building and roof plans.
n
Identifying suitable roof areas for solar panel placement.
n
Preparing simple solar panel layouts using an automated design system.
n




Producing drawings to support quoting, ordering and installation planning.
n
Assisting with customer quotations and estimates.
n
Completing material take-offs and calculating material requirements.
n
Preparing material orders.
n
Updating internal estimating and job-management systems.
n
Managing a high volume of jobs while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
n

About You
n
Direct solar experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
n
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across areas such as:
n
n
Residential drafting or architectural documentation.
n
Volume-home estimating.
n
Construction administration.
n
Solar drafting or estimating.
n
Reading residential building, architectural or roof plans.
n
Preparing quotations, take-offs or material schedules.
n
n
You'll ideally have solid computer skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within structured systems and processes.
n
If you can confidently interpret residential plans and have experience working in drafting, estimating or construction support, the solar-specific elements can be taught.
