Job Description
KPI GROUP is seeking experienced Traffic Controllers and Labourers to join our team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable organisation in the Trades & Services sector, based in Newcastle NSW. You will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient operations on construction sites and traffic management projects, contributing directly to the safety of workers and the public. This casual position offers flexibility and the chance to work on varied projects throughout the region.

Key responsibilities
n
Controlling and directing traffic flow at construction sites and designated work areas using appropriate signage and hand signals
n
Ensuring compliance with traffic management plans and safety regulations at all times
n
Conducting site inspections and maintaining clear communication with site supervisors and team members
n
Setting up and removing traffic control devices, barriers, and signage as required
n
Monitoring traffic patterns and adjusting controls to maintain safety and efficiency
n
Responding promptly to changing site conditions and potential hazards
n
Performing general labouring duties including site preparation, material handling, and maintenance of work areas
n
Assisting with the movement and placement of equipment and materials on site
n
Maintaining a clean and secure working environment in accordance with health and safety standards
n
Supporting experienced team members and contributing to effective teamwork on projects
n
What we're looking for
n
Current Traffic Management Certification or valid Traffic Controller qualification
n
High Visibility Clothing (HiVis)

Strong understanding of traffic management principles and road safety regulations

Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks, including standing for extended periods
n
Excellent communication and observation skills to identify potential hazards

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team in a structured environment

Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work on a casual basis as required
n
Current driver's licence (desirable)
n
Experience in construction or infrastructure projects (desirable)
n
Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain if required for specific projects
n
