Job Description
Tahmoor Inn is a recently renovated, up-to-date country hotel offering a welcoming environment for locals, families and visitors. The venue features a busy family bistro, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a sports bar, function facilities and accommodation.

Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, the bistro offers an extensive menu featuring pub favourites, Asian-inspired dishes, freshly prepared pizzas, daily specials and family-friendly options.
n
The venue is now seeking a qualified and experienced Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team and contribute to the venue's continued growth.
n
This is a hands‐on position suited to a reliable and motivated chef who enjoys working in a busy, high‐volume kitchen. You will take responsibility for your allocated section, maintain consistent food quality and support the senior chefs with the efficient operation of the kitchen.

Major duties and responsibilities
n
n
Prepare, cook and present meals in accordance with the venue's recipes, standards and presentation requirements.
n
Manage an allocated kitchen section during busy lunch, dinner and function services.
n
Complete daily mise en place and ensure the section is properly prepared before service.
n
Operate across different sections of the kitchen, including grill, pans, fryer, larder and functions, as required.
n
Monitor food quality, portion control, cooking temperatures and presentation.
n
Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef with menu preparation, daily specials and seasonal menu changes.
n
Cater for dietary requirements, food allergies and special customer requests.
n
Coordinate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared accurately and served promptly.
n
Provide guidance, supervision and on‐job training to cooks, apprentices and junior kitchen staff.
n
Assist with ordering,
receiving and checking food supplies.
n
Maintain appropriate stock levels and follow correct stock rotation and storage procedures.
n
Monitor food usage, minimise wastage and assist with food‐cost control.
n
Ensure compliance with food‐safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements.
n
Maintain a clean, organised and safe workstation throughout each shift.
n
Clean and correctly maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and food‐preparation areas.
n
Assist with opening, closing, cleaning and kitchen handover procedures.
n
Support the kitchen team during functions, special events and other high‐volume trading periods.
n

About you To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
n
n
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or an experienced Cook in a busy commercial kitchen.
n
Strong practical skills across several kitchen sections.
n
Experience delivering consistent food quality during high‐volume service.
n
A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen‐management requirements.
n
Good communication, organisation and time‐management skills.
n
The ability to supervise and support junior kitchen staff.
n
A positive, reliable and team‐focused approach.
n
Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
n
