A highly regarded Australian Luxury Bridal label is seeking an experienced Bridal patternmaker to join its creative team.
n
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has a strong technical understanding of bridal and couture garments, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently using both CAD patternmaking and traditional manual patternmaking techniques.
n You will be responsible for developing accurate, production-ready patterns from initial concepts through to final fit, working closely with our design and production teams to ensure each garment achieves the desired silhouette, fit and finish.
n Key Responsibilities
n

Create and develop patterns for bridal gowns, wedding dresses, bodices, skirts, sleeves, corsetry and associated bridal garments.
n
Develop patterns using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and consistency across styles and sizes.
n
Produce and modify patterns using traditional/manual patternmaking techniques.
n
Interpret sketches, design concepts, samples and technical specifications.
n
Conduct fittings and make precise pattern adjustments to achieve exceptional garment fit.
n
Understand the construction requirements of bridal fabrics, lace, tulle, satin, silk, beading and other delicate or structured materials.
n
Develop patterns that are suitable for both sampling and production.
n
Work closely with designers, sample machinists and production staff to troubleshoot fit and construction issues.
n
Grade patterns and prepare accurate production specifications where required.
n
Maintain organised pattern records and ensure patterns are clearly documented and production-ready.
n
Assist in refining existing styles and developing new bridal collections.
n

About You We are looking for someone who is technically excellent, highly experienced and passionate about bridal fashion or couture evening wear.
n You will ideally have:
n
n
Proven experience as a Patternmaker, preferably within bridal, couture, eveningwear or high-end fashion.
n
Strong knowledge of bridal garment construction and fitting.
n
Advanced ability in CAD patternmaking.
n
Strong traditional/manual patternmaking skills — we are looking for someone who can confidently work on the stand and/or develop patterns manually when required.
n
Excellent understanding of garment balance, proportion, fit and construction.
n
Experience working with complex silhouettes, corsetry, structured bodices and intricate bridal designs.
n
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
n
The ability to interpret a designer's vision and translate it into technically exact patterns.
n
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and correct fit issues.
n
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider design and production team.
n
Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
n
