One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a ERP Project Manager (SAP S/4HANA)
n

Contract Duration: 12 Months (09 Months initially + 03 Months extension)
n
Work Location: Only Canberra
n
Work Arrangement: All 5 Days a week onsite office
n
Eligibility: You must need to be Australian Citizen with Baseline security clearance or above clearance preferred)
n
Tentative Start Date: 14th Oct ****
n
Working Hours: 8 hours a day/ 40 hours a week
n

Key duties and responsibilities
n
Project Planning & Governance
n
n
Develop and deliver a comprehensive project plan covering all phases: design, build, data migration, user acceptance testing (UAT), training, go-live, and transition to business-as-usual.
n
Establish and manage governance frameworks, including preparation of reports for the ERP Steering Committee, the Executive Board, and other governance forums.
n
n
Stakeholder Engagement
n
n
Work with internal business areas (Finance, HR, Procurement, ICT) to capture requirements and ensure system alignment.
n
Build solid relationships with external vendors, contractors, and whole-of-government stakeholders to manage delivery outcomes.
n
Act as a key point of contact for steering committee discussions, providing evidence-based advice on risks, dependencies, and decision points.
n
n
Delivery & Risk Management
n
n
Oversee all project phases, ensuring milestones are met on time, within scope and budget, and at the required quality.
n
Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, with timely escalation and mitigation strategies.
n
Ensure compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules, PSPF, ISM, and department digital standards.
n
n
Leadership & Coordination
n
n
Lead a multidisciplinary project team including business analysts, change managers, and technical specialists.
n
Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, providing direction and mentoring to support delivery excellence.
n
n
Quality Assurance & Reporting
n
n
Track and report progress against milestones, deliverables, and quality standards.
n
Prepare executive-level briefings and status reports, ensuring transparency to senior stakeholders and committees.
n
n
Change & Adoption
n
n
Develop and implement change management and communications strategies to support user adoption.
n
Work with the People and Culture team and Change Manager to coordinate training activities, ensuring equitable access and effective learning outcomes.
n
Capture lessons learned through post-implementation reviews.
n
n
Essential
n
n
Demonstrated experience delivering SAP S/4HANA projects.
n
Demonstrated experience delivering ICT implementation projects in the Australian Public Service.
n
Strong track record of managing full project lifecycle phases (requirements, design, data migration, UAT, training, deployment, and post-go-live).
n
Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including participation in steering committees and executive-level governance.
n
Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive briefings and complex reports.
n
Solid understanding of APS corporate processes (finance, HR, procurement) and ICT governance.
n
Project management certifications.
n

n
Knowledge of Commonwealth cyber and security frameworks (PSPF, ISM).
