Accounts Payable Officer (Maternity Leave Contract)

Surdex Steel is a dynamic, multi-branch Victorian-based steel distribution business. We currently have an exciting maternity leave contract opportunity available at our Head Office in Dandenong.
n
While previous Accounts Payable experience is preferred, we are also open to the right person who is looking to start their career in accounts, including a school leaver who is keen to learn and develop their skills.
n
We are also happy to consider full-time or part-time hours for the right person, including someone who is looking for school-friendly hours that allow for school drop-off and pick-up.
n

About the Role
n
The position will involve:
n
Sorting invoices and matching goods receipts to invoices
n
Ensuring invoices are correctly authorised
n
Coding and entering invoices into our computer system
n
Reconciliations
n
Liaising with suppliers and various departments across the business
n
Responding to account queries from internal and external customers
n
Assisting and providing backup to other Accounts team members when required
n
About You
n




We are looking for someone who:
n
Has previous Accounts Payable experience or is keen to learn and develop a career in accounts
n
Has strong attention to detail and accuracy
n
Is reliable, organised and takes pride in their work
n
Shows initiative and is willing to learn
n
Can work independently while also being a team player
n
Is comfortable using computers
n
Has basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word
n
Can remain organised when working under pressure
n
