Cathara Consulting is seeking an
Infrastructure Recovery Engineer
to support a major technology uplift across a critical infrastructure environment. This role will be central to ensuring a new platform is brought into service with enterprise-grade recoverability, supportability, and reliability from day one.
Bring your expertise in disaster recovery, infrastructure resilience, backup and replication, operational readiness, and recovery testing to help deliver reliable, resilient platforms that minimise disruption to critical services during incidents.
Key Responsibilities
Designing and implementing site recovery capabilities for a business-critical system.
Developing and enhancing operational support processes, runbooks, and technical documentation.
Ensuring new infrastructure integrations meet agreed operational standards and recovery requirements.
Designing, implementing, and optimising backup, replication, and recovery solutions.
Leading recovery testing, validation, and failover exercises to prove recovery outcomes and identify improvement opportunities.
Identifying risks, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvement in platform resilience.
About You
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and managing site recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions in complex enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, networks, virtualisation,



cloud platforms, and hybrid environments.
Proven ability to design, implement, and optimise backup, replication, and recovery solutions that meet defined Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives.
Experience developing operational procedures, technical documentation, support models, and recovery runbooks.
Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify risks, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
