Job Description
Our client, a energetic venture capital firm based in Sydney's CBD, is looking for an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a hands-on role where you'll manage fund accounting operations, reporting, and compliance for their investment funds.

What You'll Do
n
n
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for venture capital funds
n
Prepare and reconcile fund financial statements in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements
n
Prepare comprehensive investor packs and general fund reporting
n
Calculate and process fund distributions to investors
n
Handle fund subscriptions and investor accounting
n
Assist with financial statement preparation and year-end processes
n
Support external audits and liaise with auditors and fund administrators
n
Maintain fund accounting policies and procedures
n
Oversee general ledger management, account reconciliations, and fund-level reporting
n
Assist with compliance and regulatory reporting obligations
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
n
1–4 years of fund accounting or fund operations experience in private markets
n




Background in venture capital, private equity, hedge funds, or managed funds
n
Experience with investor reporting, distribution calculations, and financial statement preparation
n
Experience with fund administration platforms and systems
n
CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) – ideal but not essential
n
Strong technical accounting knowledge
n
Solid understanding of IFRS and Australian tax
n
n
