ABOUT THE ROLE
n
As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems on heavy mobile equipment, including Caterpillar dozers, loaders, and associated machinery.
n
The role also involves building and programming custom Williams product ladder control boxes, wiring access systems and general wiring harnesses plus supporting specialised electrical fit-outs across a range of equipment. You will work to high safety and quality standards in both workshop and field environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
n
n
Diagnose, repair and maintain electrical systems on heavy mobile equipment
n
Install and wire access control systems and associated components
n
Build and program custom control boxes for equipment applications
n
Build wiring harnesses for various systems across and inside machinery
n




Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
n
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
n
Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations and modifications and update documentation where required
n
Collaborate with mechanical technicians and engineers on integrated systems
n
Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients
n

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
n
n
Certificate III in Auto Electrical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification)
n
Minimum 3 years of experience working on heavy mobile equipment electrical systems
n
Experience with Caterpillar equipment highly regarded
n
Proficiency with CAT SIS 2.0 and Parts Store
n
Experience building and programming control boxes
n
Skilled in the fabrication and installation of wiring harnesses, looms, and custom cable assemblies for heavy equipment applications
n
Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, including the ability to inspect, test, and document electrical work to ensure it meets required standards and specifications
n
