Rodney's Transport Service is seeking a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop team in Wagga Wagga.

This is an excellent prospect for an experienced and dependable mechanic looking for a hands-on role maintaining a modern heavy-vehicle fleet within an established Australian transport company.

About the role
n
You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of company-owned prime movers, trailers and associated transport equipment. Your duties will include:
n
Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
n
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and air-system faults
n
Inspecting vehicles and trailers for defects and safety issues
n
Completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements
n
Conducting roadworthiness and compliance inspections within your level of authorisation
n
Accurately completing service records, job cards and maintenance documentation
n
Responding to breakdowns when required
n
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop
n
Working closely with workshop,



fleet and operational personnel to minimise vehicle downtime
n
About you
n
To be successful, you will ideally have:
n
A recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic
n
Experience servicing and repairing heavy trucks and trailers
n
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
n
A sound understanding of heavy-vehicle safety and maintenance requirements
n
Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
n
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Your own basic trade tools
n
A heavy rigid or heavy combination licence, trailer maintenance experience and relevant inspection qualifications will be highly regarded.
