The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Underground Mining Engineer to join our team, working directly with a leading Gold Mining Operation on the East Coast of Australia. This is a FIFO opportunity on an 8/6 roster. The role will suit an experienced Underground Mining Engineer with a strong hard-rock mining background, who can provide high-quality technical support to underground operations and contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of mining activities.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing technical mining engineering support to underground mining operations
Developing and supporting mine plans, designs and schedules to achieve safe and efficient production and development outcomes
Working closely with Mining Supervisors, Superintendents and Technical Services teams to coordinate and optimise underground mining activities
Supporting the development and implementation of short- and medium-term mine plans
Monitoring mining performance against plans and identifying opportunities for improvement
Providing practical engineering solutions to operational challenges encountered underground
Supporting the planning and execution of development and production activities




Reviewing mining data and operational performance to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Ensuring mining activities are planned and executed in accordance with relevant safety, regulatory and site requirements
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across underground mining operations
Working collaboratively with operational and technical teams to improve productivity, efficiency and mine performance
Providing technical input and recommendations to site leadership and relevant stakeholders
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as an
Underground Mining Engineer
within a mining environment
Strong hard-rock underground mining experience is essential
Experience within
underground Gold mining
would be highly regarded
Strong understanding of underground mining methods, mine planning and design
Demonstrated ability to provide practical technical support to operational mining teams
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work collaboratively with operational and technical stakeholders
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
