to manage our grounds maintenance team at Rookwood General Cemetery site. The successful applicant will lead a skilled team, driving exceptional grounds maintenance outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of WHS and quality.
About the Role:
We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Grounds Team Leader to manage our grounds maintenance team at our Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park site. The successful applicant will lead a skilled team, drive exceptional grounds maintenance outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of WHS and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise grounds maintenance team (approx 4-6 employees)
Build robust relationships with stakeholders, including internal teams, contractors, and the community
Ensure Work Health and Safety (WHS) compliance and high standards of workmanship
Provide training and support to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively
Manage budgets and resources to achieve efficient outcomes
Promote a culture of sustainability and positivity in the workplace
Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety across the cemetery grounds




Operate a range of tools and equipment as required
Assist with burials and cremations teams as needed
Perform administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the team
What we are looking for:
Leadership experience managing small teams, preferably in grounds maintenance
Current Driver's License and White Card (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
Positive attitude and problem-solving approach
High level of integrity and professionalism
