As a Retail Staff Member at The Biltong Boss, your role is to provide friendly, effective customer service while maintaining a clean, well-presented and welcoming store.
n
You will help customers choose products, prepare and package biltong and other products, process sales, restock displays and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.
n
Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service
n
n
Greet and acknowledge customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
n
Assist customers with product selections and recommendations.
n
Develop a good understanding of our products so you can confidently answer customer questions.
n
Offer customers samples where appropriate and encourage them to try different products.
n
Provide fast, friendly and professional service at all times.
n
Help create a positive experience that encourages customers to return.
n
n
Sales & Point of Sale
n
n
Accurately process purchases using the POS system.
n
Handle cash and card transactions responsibly.
n
Weigh, slice, package and label products accurately.
n
Be proactive in recommending products and identifying opportunities to increase sales without being pushy.
n
Follow all store procedures relating to discounts, refunds and transactions.
n
n
Product Preparation & Stock
n
n
Slice and prepare biltong according to store standards and customer requests.
n
Keep product displays full, organised and visually appealing.
n
Restock products, packaging and supplies as required.
n




Rotate stock correctly and monitor product quality and freshness.
n
Notify the manager when stock or supplies are running low.
n
n
Cleaning & Food Safety
n
n
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the store.
n
Regularly clean benches, slicers, utensils, scales, display areas and other equipment.
n
Follow all food handling, hygiene and food safety procedures.
n
Keep floors, counters and customer-facing areas clean and tidy.
n
Complete opening and closing cleaning duties as required.
n

All team members are expected to:

Arrive on time and be ready to work at the beginning of their shift.
n
Be reliable and attend all rostered shifts unless prior arrangements have been made.
n
Present themselves in a clean, neat and professional manner.
n
Maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward customers and other team members.

Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done.

Treat customers, colleagues and management with respect.
n
Follow instructions, store procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.

Take pride in the presentation of the store and the quality of every product handed to a customer.

Communicate any problems, customer complaints, stock issues or equipment concerns to the manager promptly.
