Equality Disability & Health Care Services is looking for reliable, compassionate, and experienced Support Workers to join our growing team based in Penrith. As an experienced Support worker, you will provide 1:1 support to a client with complex mental health support needs. The successful candidate will have experience supporting people with conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, and trauma-related presentations, and will bring a trauma-informed approach to their practice.

About the role

Equality Disability & Health Care Services is looking for reliable, compassionate, and experienced Support Workers to join our growing team based in Penrith. As an experienced Support worker, you will provide 1:1 support to a client with complex mental health support needs. The successful candidate will have experience supporting people with conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, and trauma-related presentations, and will bring a trauma-informed approach to their practice.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to participants
n
Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and transport
n
Support participants with community access, including appointments, social outings, fitness activities, and skill-building programs
n
Promote participant independence, choice, and capacity building
n
Build strong,



professional relationships with participants, families, and stakeholders
n
Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and documentation
n
Follow participant support plans and uphold NDIS practice standards
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
Experience working within the disability support sector
n
Robust experience supporting participants with mental health conditions and complex trauma backgrounds
n
Understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles
n
Experience working within restrictive practice frameworks and implementing behaviour support strategies appropriately
n
Strong administrative and documentation skills, including progress notes, incident reporting, and compliance records
n
n
Risk and Safety Information:
n
n
The client may at times present with verbal aggression. If this occurs, staff are required to disengage and remove themselves from the environment for their own safety.
n
Staff must be able to recognise and respond appropriately to safety concerns, including contacting emergency services where required.
n

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Working With Children Check
n
Current First Aid & CPR certification
n
Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
