Our client is a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier of PVC pipes, composite hoses, steel reo, ventilation and ducting, servicing a range of industries nationally.
n
We are seeking an experienced Fitter & Turner to step into a newly created Maintenance Fitter Supervisor role.
n
This is an opportunity for an experienced fitter ready to take the next step into leadership, or an existing supervisor looking for a hands-on manufacturing role.
n
The Role
n
n
Supervise and coordinate a small team of 2 Fitters & Turners.
n
Allocate daily maintenance jobs and manage workloads.
n
Perform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance.
n
Fault-find, repair, rebuild and refurbish plant and equipment.
n
Maintain and improve extrusion machinery and automated manufacturing equipment.
n
Work closely with Production to minimise downtime.
n
Support preventative maintenance, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
n
Conduct toolbox talks and assist with training junior tradespeople.
n
Help develop more structured maintenance systems and processes.
n

The role will initially be approximately *****% hands-on, progressively moving towards a greater leadership and coordination focus.
n
About You
n
You will be an Australian-qualified Fitter & Turner with:
n
n
Robust mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
n
Preventative and breakdown maintenance experience.
n
Equipment rebuild and refurbishment experience.
n
Industrial/heavy manufacturing experience.
n
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
n
The ability to lead, delegate and multitask.
n
A proactive, safety-focused and team-oriented approach.
n
n
Extrusion machinery experience is highly regarded.
n
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors,
welding/fabrication
and PLC fault finding will also be advantageous.
n
