Growing Engineering Business | Broad Finance Role

An excellent opportunity has become available for a technically strong Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant ready to step up into a broader finance leadership position.
n
Working closely with senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the integrity of the financial reporting function and oversee the day-to-day finance activities of a growing engineering business.
n
This is a hands-on role requiring someone with strong technical accounting fundamentals who is comfortable getting into the detail, reviewing the balance sheet, ensuring month-end accuracy and maintaining robust financial controls.
n
At the same time, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your exposure across commercial finance, operations and business partnering as the organisation continues to grow.

The Role
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n

Take ownership of the month-end and year-end close
n
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
n
Prepare and review monthly financial and management accounts
n
Own and reviewbalance sheet reconciliations
n
Review journals, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
n




Analyse P&L; and balance sheet movements and investigate variances
n
Ensure appropriate application of accounting standards and policies
n
Maintain and strengthen financial controls, policies and procedures
n
Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
n
Improve reporting processes, systems and month-end efficiencies
n
Partner with operational stakeholders to understand business performance
n
Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management
n
Support and mentor junior members of the finance team
n

For an experienced Senior Financial Accountant, it represents a genuine chance to step into your first Finance Manager position. Equally, it would suit an existing Finance Manager who enjoys remaining close to the numbers and wants a broad, hands-on role.
