Trainee Leak Detection Technician – Gas, Water & Building

This is a structured Trainee Leak Detection Technician position for a proactive, highly motivated individual looking to step into a specialized, high-demand sector of the trade industry. You will undertake an intensive 6-week to 3-month paid training program alongside senior technicians, mastering advanced electronic and acoustic leak detection equipment, digital reporting (ServiceM8), and specialized diagnostics.

Key responsibilities
n
Assist with on-site non-invasive gas, water, and building envelope leak investigations
n
Operate high-end diagnostic tools, thermal imaging, acoustic gear, and tracer gas detectors
n
Generate clear, detailed digital site reports using ServiceM8 for clients, real estate managers, and insurers
n
Deliver outstanding customer service and communicate professionally in office
n
Maintain equipment, vehicle, and safety compliance at all times
n
About you
n
Certificate II (or higher) OR proven hands‐on experience in Plumbing, Building & Construction, or allied trades
n




Advanced critical thinking skills—you must enjoy investigating complex problems
n
Excellent written and spoken English with high attention to detail for client reporting
n
Proven history of long‐term, stable employment
n
Valid Australian Driver's License with clean driving record
n
National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
n
White Card (General Construction Induction)
n
Full working rights in Australia
