Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum

Small Bar Crows Nest is an established 120-seat tapas-style restaurant that has been part of the Crows Nest community for over 10 years. We pride ourselves on outstanding food, excellent service, and a hardworking but enjoyable team workplace.

We're looking for an experienced Chef / Cook to join our team full-time and take a hands‐on role in the day-to-day running of our kitchen.

About You

We're looking for someone who:
Has formal culinary/hospitality qualifications and/or 2–3+ years' experience in a busy commercial kitchen
Has experience with tapas, small plates, or a similar style of cuisine
Is confident working in a fast-paced, high‐pressure environment
Has experience supervising a kitchen and small team
Takes pride in food quality, consistency, presentation, and cleanliness
Has a good understanding of food safety, stock control, ordering, and kitchen costs
Is reliable, organised, and works well with both kitchen and floor teams

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing, cooking,



and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
Supervising and supporting chefs and cooks
Managing kitchen preparation and service
Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
Contributing to menu development and weekly specials
Managing stocktakes, ordering, portion control, and wastage
Working with the General Manager on rostering, staffing, and cost of goods
Working closely with floor staff to deliver an excellent customer experience
Preparing and organising the kitchen for the following day's service
