Job Description:
The HSSE Advisor provides expert guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, security, and environmental performance across BP Australia's operations. This role is crucial in fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide expert HSSE advice and support to operational teams, project managers, and leadership on all aspects of health, safety, security, and environmental management.
Conduct regular HSSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
Develop, implement, and monitor HSSE management systems, procedures, and programs in line with BP's global standards and local regulatory requirements.
Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
Deliver HSSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors to enhance their understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Monitor and report on HSSE performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable HSSE legislation, industry standards, and BP internal policies.
Collaborate with external regulatory bodies, emergency services, and other stakeholders as required.
Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans and participate in drills and exercises.
Champion a strong safety culture through active engagement, communication, and promotion of HSSE initiatives.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant HSSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, CSP, CRSP, or equivalent).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HSSE roles within the oil and gas, energy, or heavy industry sectors.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing HSSE management systems.
Proven track record in conducting risk assessments,



incident investigations, and audits.
Strong knowledge of Australian HSSE legislation and regulations.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of an organization.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSSE management software.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
