The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Set up and operate CNC milling machines and/or CNC lathes
Independently set up jobs from engineering drawings
Set cutting tools, fixtures, workholding, work offsets and tool offsets
Load, prove and adjust CNC programs at the machine
Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, speeds and feeds
Carry out first-off and in-process dimensional inspections
Use micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges and other precision measuring equipment
Monitor dimensions,



surface finish and tool condition during machining
Make tooling, machine and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy
Troubleshoot machining, tooling and setup issues
Produce components to engineering drawings and specified tolerances
What We're Looking For
Experience as a CNC Machinist / Setter / Operator
Strong CNC machine setting skills
Ability to independently set up and prove machining jobs
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
Good knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds and workholding
Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good machining and problem-solving skills
Reliable and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
A relevant trade qualification is preferred.
Experience with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machining is required. Experience with 5-axis CNC machining is not essential but will be highly regarded.
Experience with Siemens SINUMERIK controls would be an advantage - not essential
