Lifestyle Facilitator (disability support)
Lifestyle Facilitator (Support Worker) - people with disability
Equity Works Assoc. Inc.
Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast QLD
Quality support begins with quality people.
At Equity Works, we believe that great support happens when great people feel genuinely supported. We are a community‐grounded, relationship‐driven and values‐led organisation, with a strong local presence on the Sunshine Coast.
We're small enough that every person is known, heard and valued, and large enough to offer structure, consistency, development and real career pathways. Our work is built on trust, continuity and human connection, for the people we support and the people who support them.
We're currently seeking compassionate, capable Lifestyle Facilitators to join our teams across:
Short‐term accommodation and respite
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Because consistency matters to the people we support, we're seeking team members who can offer availability across a range of shifts, including overnight sleepovers and weekday work.
We provide 24/7 support to people with disability living in their own homes on the Sunshine Coast. They need support staff for a minimum of ***** hours a week.
Sleepover availability is a must for these roles.
About the role
As a Lifestyle Facilitator, you play a vital role in walking alongside people with disability to support a quality life, one shaped by choice, dignity and belonging.
Your work will focus on doing with, not for and supporting people to build confidence, skills and independence at their own pace. You'll be part of a team that places strong value on relationships, continuity and thoughtful staff–client matching, because we know consistency matters.
You won't be expected to "figure things out alone". New team members receive structured onboarding, shadowing, buddy shifts and supervision, ensuring you feel confident, safe and well‐prepared before working independently.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you'll deliver person‐centred, active support by:
Supporting people with physical,
intellectual or psychosocial disability to live safely, confidently and meaningfully
Assisting with personal care, meal preparation, household tasks and daily routines in ways that promote dignity and independence
Supporting community participation, social connection, appointments and recreational activities
Working from clear care plans, behaviour support plans and guidance so expectations are always clear
Maintaining accurate, respectful documentation that supports quality and continuity of care
Building positive relationships with families, carers and wider support networks
Your focus will always be on empowering people, strengthening relationships and supporting participation in everyday life.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for people who lead with kindness, show initiative, and believe in the rights, dignity and potential of people with disability.
You'll be well‐suited to this role if you bring:
Experience supporting people with disability (or a solid willingness to learn and develop)
A values‐driven approach grounded in respect, inclusion and human rights
Strong communication and relationship‐building skills
Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including sleepovers
A current driver's licence and access to a reliable, road‐worthy vehicle
Most importantly, you'll share our belief that support is about relationships, trust and meaningful presence, not just tasks.
Why join Equity Works?
Because here, people come first, always.
At Equity Works, our support workers are employed, not engaged as independent contractors. This is a deliberate choice, designed to provide stability, fairness, career growth and long‐term support for our workforce.
A genuine not‐for‐profit with a community focus
We are a true not‐for‐profit organisation, we take pride in our reinvestment back into Sunshine Coast community that we support. Our work is driven by purpose, not profit, ensuring decisions are always made in the best interests of clients, families, staff and community.
A culture where people are known and valued
You're not just a name on a roster. We prioritise kindness, inclusion, respect and honest conversation, creating a safe environment for feedback, reflection and growth.
Support you can truly rely on
With 24/7 on‐call support, reflective practice and debriefing, you are never left on your own to manage complex or challenging situations. Your safety, confidence and wellbeing genuinely matter.
Holistic learning and real development
We go beyond mandatory training, building capability in person‐centred active support, communication, trauma‐informed practice, human rights and complex support. We invest in people at every stage of their journey.
Meaningful, consistent work with a human touch
We prioritise thoughtful staff–client matching and ongoing relationships, because consistency supports better outcomes for everyone.
Local work that feels purposeful
Our services are deeply connected to the Sunshine Coast community. You'll see the impact of your work every day, not as a number on a roster, but as a trusted supporter in someone's life.
Opportunities to grow, lead and specialise
Whether you're interested in mentoring, coordination or leadership, we offer coaching and pathways to help you build the career you want.
At Equity Works, we don't just offer work, we offer a supported, sustainable career in disability support.
