Total Rural Supplies is seeking a
Rural Merchandise Salesperson
to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD. This is a
full-time position
that plays a vital role in connecting our customers with the agricultural products and services they need to succeed. As a Rural Merchandise Salesperson, you will be the face of our organisation, building strong relationships with farmers, agricultural businesses and rural communities whilst driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service. This role is fundamental to our mission of supporting the agricultural sector with quality merchandise and expert advice.
Key responsibilities
Identify and pursue sales opportunities within the rural and agricultural sector, building a robust customer base across the Toowoomba region
Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers, ensuring they select merchandise suited to their specific farming and agricultural needs
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular contact, follow-up and exceptional service delivery
Prepare quotations, process orders and manage transactions efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
Actively promote Total Rural Supplies' product range and services to new and existing clients through consultative selling techniques
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product development and sales growth
Contribute to achieving sales targets and key performance indicators whilst maintaining accurate records and documentation
Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and proper handling of merchandise orders




Represent Total Rural Supplies professionally at agricultural events, trade shows and community activities.
Positive interaction with suppliers and organise procurement of rural merchandise stock lines.
Inventory management and co-ordination.
What we're looking for
Proven experience in rural sales, agricultural merchandise or a related field within the farming and agronomy sector
Strong knowledge of agricultural products, farming practices and rural industry operations, or demonstrated ability to quickly acquire this knowledge
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse customer groups
Proven sales ability with a track record of achieving targets and driving revenue growth
Sound understanding of rural customer needs and the challenges faced by farmers and agricultural businesses
Proficiency with computer systems, sales software and Microsoft Office applications
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to visit customers across the region
Ability to work independently whilst being a collaborative team member
Solid organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
A professional approach to customer service and problem-solving
