Job Description
Accessory Fitter - Full Time - We'll Train the Right Person
n
Ready to learn a trade? We'll teach you everything else.
n
We're after one person to join our fitting workshop full time. You don't need experience. You don't need to know what a bullbar bolts to. What you need is to turn up on time, listen, have a crack, and care about doing the job properly.
n
Everything else, we teach you.
n
Who we are
n
Offroad Animal Bayswater is a family-owned business. We're not a big corporate shop - the team is small enough that everyone knows everyone, and the person who trains you is the person you'll be working next to every day. Our workshop is up-to-date, clean, well set up, and properly equipped. You won't be scratching around for tools.
n
What you'll be doing
n
You'll be fitting 4x4 and towing gear to customer vehicles - bullbars, roof racks, canopies, tubs, side steps, driving lights, snorkels and suspension, plus towbars, wiring harnesses, brake controllers and general 12V electrical work.
n
Day to day that means:
n
Working from fitting instructions to get gear on straight, tight and right the first time
n
Drilling, cutting, mounting and wiring - hands-on work, every day
n
Running your own jobs start to finish once you're up to speed
n
Keeping your bay tidy and your work to a standard you'd be happy to see on your own car
n
Treating customer vehicles like they're worth more than they are
n
What we're actually looking for
n
This is the important part.
We would rather take on someone green with the right attitude than someone experienced with the wrong one. We're looking for:
n
You show up. On time, every day, ready to work. This is non-negotiable and it's the number one thing we're screening for.
n
You listen and take direction. You'll be shown how we do things. Do it that way until you've earned the right to suggest better.
n
You ask when you don't know. Guessing on a customer's car costs everyone. Asking costs nothing.
n
You want to get good at something. Not just collect a pay packet — actually get good.
n
You take pride in your work. If it's crooked, you do it again. Nobody should have to tell you.
n
You're a decent person to be around. Small team. Everyone has to pull their weight and get along.
n
What you don't need
n
Trade experience or qualifications
n
Your own tools
n
Any prior knowledge of 4x4 gear
n
What you do need
n
A current driver's licence - you'll be moving customer vehicles
n
The right to work in Australia
n
To be physically fit - you're on your feet, lifting gear and working under vehicles
n
Basic hand tool sense (if you've pulled apart a dirt bike or built something in the shed, you're ahead)
n
What's in it for you
n
A real trade skill.
n
Tools and uniform supplied.
n
A proper workshop.
n
A family-owned team.
n
Real hours.
n
Staff discounts
n
A path forward.
n
Money
n
Competitive and based on what you bring, not what's on your résumé. Come in with the right attitude and we'll look after you.
