We're looking for a Data Analyst with an understanding of data engineering and how data pipelines, warehousing, and data structures work.

About the Role
n
The program's strategic focus for the next two years centres on reporting, analytics, and data utilisation across NSW Government.
n
n
Key responsibilities include supporting agencies with data ingestion into the NSW Data Analytics Centre (DAC), assisting with data cleansing and alignment with data models, and producing high-quality visualisations and analytics.
n
Robust background in data analytics, with some understanding of data engineering and how data pipelines, warehousing, and data structures work.
n
Familiarity with data governance, data custodianship, policy compliance,



and a strong security mindset.
n
Work between technical discussions (e.g., ingestion, data cleansing, Snowflake, ETL tools such as Azure Data
Factory/Databricks)
and business-level conversations (e.g., data dictionaries, data models).
n
Supporting complex programs and working under pressure with resilience, confidence (but not arrogance), adaptability, and strong interpersonal style suited to the existing high-performing team.

Visualisation layer built primarily in Power BI.
n

About You
n
n
Ideally 5+ years' experience working as a data analyst.
n
Strong capability in data visualisation, particularly using Power BI.
n
ETL and transformation tools including Azure Data Factory / Databricks.
n
Some experience working in the government sector would be advantageous (NOT essential).
